From past few years, I enjoy traveling and finding out new places around India. Last month I casually visited Udaipur to attend my cousin’s wedding ceremony as it was her destination wedding. After having conversation with her, I decided to explore the beauty and heart of Rajasthan by going for Udaipur tour, which is also known as “City of Lakes“, or “Venice of East”. Its cultural and folk activities are prominent throughout the world. Udaipur was the old capital of Mewar Kingdom, situated in southern region of Rajasthan, near Gujarat border. This city is fully covered with Aravali Range. Climate of Udaipur is sultry type and stay quite moderate throughout the year. It was a puzzled situation for me to choose where to go, because of so many attractive places to explore. I can still feel the aroma of Gulab Bagh (Sajjan Niwas Garden) as there were so many innumerable species of roses. Udaipur City Palace, Lake Palace, Jag Mandir, Monsoon Palace, Jagdish Temple, Fatah Sagar Lake, Lake Pichola, Saheliyon Ki bari, Udai Sagar Lake and many more eye catching places were beautiful enough to steel people's heart. Initially, I took a boat ride at Pichola Lake and it was definitely worth getting a boat ride to see the historic view of city from the lake. Udaipur’s cuisines are all about vegetarian dishes because of influenced by Vaishnavism and Jainism. It consists of tremendous variety of spices that are unique to the lands of Rajasthan. I observed high number of folks following Jainism religion there. Other than this, local citizens were also very friendly and good at heart. Udaipur city is additionally honored for its folk dance and music, especially in Kachhi Ghodi, Ghoomar, Kalbeliya, Terahtaali, and Bhavai. If I talk about dance types, Naad, Tanpura, Morchang, Sarangi are very well known in Udaipur. One of the folks dance styles, Dandi Gair is also associated with Mewar region. That was my experience to Udaipur, but I am looking forward to go there again to discover rest of the amazing magnetism of Udaipur. After reading a lot about golden triangle from internet, I am planning to go for golden triangle with Udaipur tour now. |
